Affirming Approach

By combining counselling, coaching, expertise and my own lived experience as a neurodivergent adult. I can help you make sense of your life story and how your experiences shape the way you move through the world. From there we turn toward your goals, your strengths, skill building and practical strategies that actually work for your brain and your life. My approach is holistic, integrative and firmly neurodivergent affirming.

Email/Text Therapy

Email and text‑based therapy offer a flexible, accessible and client‑led way for adults to engage in therapeutic support. These written formats allow individuals to explore their experiences at their own pace, using language that feels safe and authentic. For many people, especially those with trauma histories or who are neurodivergent, written communication can reduce pressure, increase clarity and create a greater sense of control within the therapeutic process.

Written therapy provides space for reflection, allowing clients to revisit their words, notice patterns and develop deeper insight into their emotions and responses. The asynchronous nature of email and text support can also reduce the intensity sometimes felt in face‑to‑face sessions, making it easier to approach difficult topics without becoming overwhelmed. For neurodivergent clients, the ability to communicate without managing eye contact, sensory environments or rapid conversational demands can significantly improve comfort and engagement.

For trauma survivors, written therapy can support grounding and emotional regulation by offering a slower, more contained way to process experiences. Clients can choose when to write, pause when needed and express themselves without fear of immediate judgement. This can help reduce shame, support autonomy and create a safer foundation for exploring traumatic memories or relational difficulties.

Overall, email and text‑based therapy can enhance accessibility, reduce barriers and provide a supportive, client‑centred format that respects individual communication styles, sensory needs and emotional safety. It is a valuable option for adults seeking therapeutic support that is flexible, affirming and responsive to their unique ways of engaging with the world.
