My name is Robyn Ferns, I am a qualified Play Therapist, Integrative Counsellor, Therapeutic mentor, Clinical/Creative Supervisor and Clinical Director of a therapy service.

With two decades of experience working with children, young people, and adults across diverse environments. This includes early years, schools, children's homes, family contact centres, adoption therapy services, and the management of a neurodivergent-affirming therapy service for both neurodivergent therapists and clients—I bring substantial expertise. Additionally, I offer my personal perspective as an individual with lived experience of neurodivergence.

Throughout my career I have worked with children, young people, families and adults who have experienced a wide range of life affecting difficulties such as domestic violence, alcoholism/drug use, neglect, physical and emotional abuse, child sexual exploitation (CSE), rape/sexual assault victims and perpetrators. I have worked with diverse family dynamics and challenging relationships.

I am qualified in a range of evidence-based and creative therapeutic approaches, including person-centred counselling, CBT, Gestalt therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, SandStory therapy, play therapy and Lego based therapy.

As an integrative practitioner, I do not follow a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I draw thoughtfully from these approaches to create a personalised way of working that responds to what my clients bring to each session, at their pace, and in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

A Bit About Me • Outside the Therapy Room •

A bit about me (outside the therapy room)

  •  I live by the sea and love the sound of the waves
  •  I’m always expanding my knowledge; learning is a lifelong process and I believe we never truly stop.
  • I am a huge Lego fan and you will see several of my collection in my therapy space
  • Favourite comfort watch: Xfiles, Red Dwarf

When I'm not in the clinic, I find balance and joy through movement, nature, and creative expression. These personal interests help me stay grounded and bring a holistic perspective to my therapeutic practice.
